The Perfume Shop announces ‘Living Wage employer’ accreditation

The Perfume Shop has announced that is has successfully secured accreditation with the Living Wage Foundation.

In recognition of the significant impact of the cost of living crisis, the fragrance retailer has ensured that all staff are paid fairly and feel rewarded for their hard work, by paying the real Living Wage pay rates since January 2023.

The Perfume Shop has furthered this commitment to supporting its staff by working with key suppliers to ensure they are also committed to paying their employees a real living wage.

Gill Smith, Managing Director of The Perfume Shop, says: “We wanted to implement the real living wage to recognise the value of our store teams to the business. Formal accreditation by the real Living Wage Foundation has been a long-held ambition of ours. It helps us attract and retain some of the best talent, passion and spark on the high street.”

Additionally, store teams can earn commission in key trading periods and managers participate in an annual bonus scheme to reward hardworking staff.

The fragrance retailer has also recently launched the new Aviva Digicare+ Workplace benefit scheme for all staff which offers a virtual GP service, mental health support and lifestyle advice to further support the wellbeing of employees.

In further efforts to support its staff, The Perfume Shop is committed to employee development, offering opportunities for employees to develop their career through apprenticeships, internal management training programmes and vocational learning through the British Retail Consortium and the Fragrance Foundation qualification programme.
